The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has officially announced the constitution of a nine-member Media Awards Committee to vet entries and select winners for the prestigious 29th GJA Media Awards, slated for November 2025 at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The committee is chaired by Mr. Gabriel Bosompem, a Former Commissioner of the National Media Commission and Former Production Manager at TV3 (Media General).
Other distinguished members of the committee include Mr. Kingsley Obeng-Kyere, 2012 GJA–P.A.V. Ansah Journalist of the Year and Senior Manager at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC); Madam Nana Yaa Konadu, Presenter at Peace FM; and Madam Theresa Owusu Ako, Former Head of Radio News at GBC.
The remaining members are Madam Agnes Boye-Doe, Deputy News Editor at the Ghana News Agency (GNA); Mr. David Andoh, President of the Ghana Photojournalists Network and Photojournalist with Multimedia Group; Alhaji Salifu Abdul Rahaman, Editor of the Ghanaian Times; Mr. Samuel Bio, Night Editor at Graphic Communications Group Limited; and Mr. Jeorge Wilson Kingston, Executive Secretary of the Private Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG).
The committee will oversee the selection of winners across various categories, including the highly coveted GJA/P.A.V. Ansah Journalist of the Year, Best Female Journalist of the Year, Komla Dumor Most Promising Journalist of the Year, and Best Student Journalist of the Year.
This year’s ceremony, which will be held under the auspices of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, is expected to be a grand celebration of journalistic excellence, attracting national and international dignitaries.
According to a statement signed by GJA General Secretary Dominic Hlordzi, the National Executive expressed appreciation for the continuous support from Corporate Ghana and urged more partners to come on board to make the 29th edition of the Awards a resounding success.
