Following a thorough investigation into the NSS gost name scandal, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has disclosed that over GH¢8.2 million was paid into an Ezwich account belonging to the former Director General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Mr. Osei-Assibey Antwi, during the 2022/2023 service year.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Friday, June 13, 2025, Dr. Ayine said the funds were part of an ongoing investigation by the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) taskforce, which is looking into financial misconduct at the NSA.

According to him, the account, registered in Mr. Osei-Assibey’s name, received a total of GH¢8,256,000.00, and investigations show that he personally received the money.

“A total of eight million, two hundred and fifty-six thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢8,256,000.00) was deposited into Ezwich account number 1177042059, which is registered in the name of suspect Osei-Assibey. During a search at his residence, the Ezwich card linked to the account was found,” Dr. Ayine said.

The revelation is the latest in a series of findings by the ORAL taskforce, which was set up to trace and recover state funds lost through corruption and mismanagement pending prosecution.
