Veep Opoku-Agyemang donates to Komenda Traditional Council ahead of Komendaman Nyeyi Festival

‎Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has donated assorted items to the Komenda Traditional Council in support of the annual Komendaman Nyeyi Festival, scheduled for Saturday.

‎The items included schnapps, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, bottles of water, bags of rice, cooking oil, maize, cartons of mackerel, cartons of tomato paste, sheep, and a cash donation.

‎Addressing the traditional council, the Central Regional Minister, Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, said the government remains committed to improving road infrastructure in the area and revamping the Komenda Sugar Factory to boost local economic activity.

‎Paramount Chief of the Komenda Traditional Area, Okatakyi Komeh VIII, expressed gratitude to the Vice President for the gesture and offered prayers for her long life and prosperity.

‎The festival celebrates the ancestors, deities, and Dutch heritage of the Komenda Traditional Area. The grand durbar of the Komendaman Nyeyi Festival is expected to draw large crowds from across the region on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
