The Tamale Dakpema, Naa Fuseini Bawa, was attacked by unidentified gunmen at his palace in Tamale, Monday March 7, 2022.
The dawn attack left the Dakpema and at least two others injured from the gunshots and are currently receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
Sources close to the palace revealed that the gunmen raided the Palace early in the morning and fired sporadically, leaving the Palace riddled with bullet marks.
The assailants also took away one of the two talking drums used at the Palace.
The Northern Regional Crime Officer, who doubles as the Regional Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga, confirmed the incident saying they are investigating the attack.
He added that Police Personnel have been deployed at the Palace and the Tamale Teaching Hospital to protect life and property.
