The Oti Regional Police Command has intercepted a truck loaded with 4,000 parcels of suspected narcotics, which were cleverly concealed in secret compartments beneath a trailer at Dambai.
The operation, carried out on February 10, 2026, followed intelligence gathered by the police. Officers stopped a DAF long trailer with registration number GW 1943-09, which appeared empty at first glance. However, a thorough inspection revealed that the trailer had been modified with six metal plates sealing hidden compartments underneath.
When the compartments were opened in the presence of the suspect, Amidu Jubril, 40, police discovered 4,000 parcels of compressed dried leaf substances wrapped in yellow masking tape and suspected to be narcotics.
The truck has since been impounded and the seized substances retained as exhibits for further investigation.
The suspect is currently in custody assisting with ongoing investigations, while police continue efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking activities in the region.
The Regional Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to combating narcotics and related crimes.
