President Akufo-Addo has once again assured the people of Ghana that his government is determined to relieve Ghanaians of their suffering and bring the economy back on track.
He said the challenges being witnessed in recent times are largely due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy, which has been exacerbated by the effects of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The President said this when he delivered the keynote address at this year’s 18th Consultative Meeting of the Anglican Church in Accra.
Welcoming the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Portal Welby, and the Anglican Consultative Council to Ghana, the President noted that the Anglican Church has been a good example of what it means to love one another and give cheerfully to those in need.
He said the church continues to play a significant role in the growth and development of the nation.
Addressing the financial sustainability strategy of the Anglican Church in Ghana, which seeks to move the Church to a position of self-reliance, the President applauded the church’s decision to establish an insurance brokerage.
