President John Dramani Mahama and the First Lady, Lordina Mahama have sponsored the construction of ten legacy temples for Assemblies of God, Ghana where they both worship. Some of them have been completed while others are at different stages of construction.
Each temple comes with a fully furnished, two-bedroom house for the pastor, an office, as well as musical equipment, and 150 chairs.
The donations are in fulfillment of a vow President Mahama and the first lady made to the 2024 General Council meeting of Assemblies of God, Ghana in Navrongo. They have also refurbished the Bole Assembly of God located in the hometown of the President.
The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev Stephen Wengam was full of gratitude to the President and his wife for fulfilling their pre-election promises with concrete action.
The Legacy Temple Project, according to Rev Wengam, is a clarion and Marcedonian call on individuals, families, institutions, agencies, business entities, churches and their departments, to sponsor the construction of temples for newly planted churches, especially those in rural settings or for churches who lack resources to build their own places of worship.
He appealed for more support to enable the church to establish its presence and spread the gospel in every village, town and city in the country.
