Two men have been remanded in custody for two weeks after being caught dumping refuse at Rawlings Park in Accra’s Central Business District.

Ibrahim Abdullah and Eric Opoku were unable to meet their bail conditions of GH₵2,000 each and are expected to reappear in the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Sanitation Court on November 5, 2025.

Prosecutor Nii Okine Aryee told the court the men were arrested by AMA Public Health Officers on October 12, 2025, at around 5:00 am for disposing of waste in violation of the Assembly’s sanitation bye-laws, which prohibit the dumping of refuse at unauthorised locations.
