According to some residents, it has taken some of them 2 to 3 days from dawn to dusk to go through the process and this has delayed their daily activities. This is because the process has been slow since day one.

Speaking with Kwame, a resident of Madina Zongo Junction, he mentioned that it took him two days to do his registration due to how slow the process was and it wasn’t an easy one for him.

“On the first day, I sat for eight hours and at the end, i was given a number to come today and I have been here for the same eight hours before getting my card, it was very tough and I got tired at a point but all the same, I have been able to do it,” he said”

Hasana Abubakar a resident at Madina Social Welfare also stated that, favouritism and injustice is the cause of the delay and it is a major challenge and a cause of the chaos all around.

“We have been seated here for a long time just because we know no one while other people who are not in the queue are given the opportunity to register, this is not fair to us and that is what is causing the confusion here,” he added.

They are therefore expressing their grievances to the Madina EC officials to ensure fairness for a smooth and peaceful process.
