The Member of Parliament for Salaga-South, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has donated 200 streetlights to enhance security and improve livelihoods in her constituency.
Installation of the streetlights has begun in Salaga township, where poor visibility at night has long been linked to insecurity and frequent road accidents. The intervention is expected to significantly improve safety for both residents and visitors.

Director of Special Projects in the Office of the MP, Mustapha Nafiu, said the initiative forms part of the MP’s commitment to addressing community security challenges and creating an enabling environment for economic activity. He indicated that the project will be extended to other communities in the constituency in the coming weeks.
“This initiative is aimed at improving security, reducing crime, and making our streets safer for both residents and visitors,” Nafiu stated.
Residents have welcomed the project, describing it as timely and transformative. They expressed optimism that the new streetlights will help curb theft, reduce accidents, and encourage trading activities after dark.
“This is something we have long been hoping for. Now, we can feel safer moving around at night,” a resident said.
The streetlight project adds to a series of development initiatives rolled out by the MP, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, who has prioritized infrastructure and social interventions that directly impact the daily lives of constituents.
