Founder of the Spirit Revelation Ministry, Prophet Derrick Kwadwo Kwarteng, has called on pastors and the general public to demonstrate patriotism by paying their TV license fees.
His appeal comes in support of ongoing efforts to mobilize financial backing for the State Broadcaster, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, to enable it function as required by the Constitution, particularly in its bid to secure broadcasting rights for all Black Stars matches.
Prophet Kwarteng made the appeal during his Sunday Higher Life Service on October 5, 2025. He specifically urged all pastors within his ministry to pay their TV license fees, a call they promptly heeded. He further tasked the entire congregation to follow their lead in fulfilling this civic duty.

Expressing his appreciation to GTV and its parent organisation, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Prophet Kwarteng commended their continued dedication and professionalism as a leading media entity in Ghana. He encouraged the Corporation to maintain its excellent work in serving the nation.
The Prophet’s call follows a campaign recently launched by the Digital Studio Department of the State Broadcaster on Facebook via their GTV Ghana page aimed at rallying citizens to support the National Broadcaster by paying their TV license fees.
The campaign has energized many government officials, including President John Dramani Mahama, Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, opposition NPP members, and former Vice President and NPP flagbearer for the 2024 elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to pay their fees.

The list of personalities backing this social media initiative continues to grow steadily, with Ministers, the Speaker of Parlaiment, MPs, Members of the Judiciary, Heads of State Institutions, Traditional Leaders and Chiefs, the Clergy, Media Personalities, Musicians and actors and actresses rallying around the clock to support and promote the cause.
