The Minister of Finance of Sierra Leone, Sheku Fantamadi Bangura, has paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, Esq.
The visit centered on discussions about the remarkable success of GoldBod, Ghana’s gold management and trading initiative, and how its model could be replicated to foster economic growth in Sierra Leone.
Mr. Bangura commended Ghana for the innovative steps taken to formalize and strengthen its gold sector, noting that such strategies could play a key role in boosting Sierra Leone’s economy.
For his part, Mr. Gyamfi welcomed the partnership opportunity and reiterated the Ghana Gold Board’s commitment to sharing expertise and collaborating with Sierra Leone to ensure mutual growth and prosperity in the sub-region.
The meeting highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in leveraging natural resources to drive sustainable development across Africa.
