Developers of the Ghana Card, Margins Group, have hinted at a possible extension of the deadline for the ongoing SIM Card re-registration.

Executive Chairman of the company, Moses Baiden says the deadline given by the Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu Ekuful, is not to punish anyone but to ensure all Ghana Card holders are able to re-register their SIMC Cards early enough to enjoy the benefits.

He told Nathaniel Nartey, that so far, more than five million mobile phone users have initiated the process of re-registering their SIM Cards.

”We have seen on the NIA platform that as of yesterday (November 2,2021) that over 5.3m calls have been made for identity data from the telos ..the minister has been passionate about the process and she set the deadline but I am sure that if there is the need to extend it, it may happen. The idea is not to punish people but make sure everybody gets on board. The deadline is to ensure that this happens quickly so that we can enjoy the benefits”, according to the Executive Chairman of Margins Group, Moses Baiden.
