The Association of Small Town Water Supply Systems (ASTOWAS) has called on government to urgently pay monies accruing them from Free Water Services they rendered as part of the response to Covid-19.

They stressed that most Small Town Water Systems risk collapse if the money is not paid immediately to enable them to purchase more power.

Speaking to the media in Sunyani, Secretary of ASTOWAS, Issah Ahmed, disclosed that as a result of the non-payment of their accrued cash between April and August, many Small Town Water Systems have either collapsed, or have stopped rendering the free water service to stay afloat.

He urged government to act swiftly to ensure constant supply of potable water in the rural areas.
