The Children’s Support Fund, created to provide long-term welfare for the children of victims of the August 6 helicopter crash, has raised GHS 7,292,135 and US$20,000 following fresh donations received between September 12 and 24, 2025.

According to the latest update, contributions have come from both corporate institutions and individuals. Major donors include Risk Management Ltd., Federated Commodities, Willbeck Consult, Sida Global Logistics & Engineering Ltd., the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Private contributors such as Michael Kpakpo Allotey, Metropolitan Chief Executive of Accra, and Dr. Li & Chen Guo Wei also made significant pledges.

Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, expressed gratitude to donors, assuring that all contributions would be dedicated to supporting the education, healthcare, and general welfare of the affected children.

The Fund reminded the public that contributions remain open through Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited (Stanbic Heights Branch), with accounts available in both Ghana cedis and US dollars, as well as via cheques, bank drafts, and mobile money platforms.

The August 6 helicopter crash claimed the lives of eight Ghanaians, including five government officials and three Ghana Armed Forces officers, sparking a wave of national solidarity.

Corporate bodies, state institutions, and individuals continue to rally behind the initiative to ensure that the children left behind have access to the support and opportunities they need for a brighter future.
