President John Dramani Mahama has been praised by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, of Nigeria for his remarkable economic turnaround in Ghana.
The Ooni of Ife conferred the title “Aare Atayeto Oodua of the Source” on President Mahama, translating to “A President who reorganises the global space for humanity,” in recognition of his leadership and advocacy for global cooperation, equity, and sustainable development.
According to him, “You (John Dramani Mahama) did magic that has never been done before. Immediately you ascended the throne the second time, the entire Ghanaian economy turned around completely”, he added.
Honoring President Mahama on Monday, December 15, 2025 in Abuja, the Ooni of Ife, highlighted that President Mahama has a golden torch and the Nigerian people are very proud of him for rearranging and reforming Ghana.
The Ooni of Ife also added that President Mahama is still very young and so he (Ooni of Ife) is very positive the President would become the next President and Chairman of the African Union (AU).
