Two people have been confirmed dead, while thirteen others – including a child and the truck driver – sustained injuries in a road crash at Kormantse on the Cape Coast–Accra highway. The accident involved a Mercedes Benz with registration number AS 4146-25 and a Hino truck with registration number GW 5958-25.

According to the Mankessim Fire Station, a distress call was received at 3:50am on Saturday.

Most occupants managed to escape with the help of passersby before the arrival of the Mankessim Fire Rescue Team. Firefighters later extricated two trapped persons who were confirmed dead.
