The Ghana Education Service (GES) has confirmed that a bee attack at Anloga E.P. Basic School in the Volta Region has resulted in the deaths of two pupils, with 28 others sustaining injuries.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, affecting a total of 33 individuals, including five teachers, three school feeding cooks, and twenty-two learners.
In a statement issued on December 19, GES extended its condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
The Service also lauded the prompt response of teachers, officers from the Ghana National Fire Service, and community members, whose swift actions helped contain the situation.
GES further announced that it is working closely with the Ghana National Fire Service, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and the District Chief Executive to remove the bee habitat and put preventive measures in place to avert similar incidents in the future.
