A tragic incident has occurred at Accra New Town, where a building collapse has reportedly claimed the lives of two individuals and left several others trapped beneath the debris.
According to initial reports, the structure believed to have been hosting worshippers at the time of the incident suddenly gave way, causing panic and chaos in the area. Emergency response teams involving the Ghana National Fire Service, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and the Ghana Police Service have since rushed to the scene and are working tirelessly to rescue those still trapped.
Eyewitnesses describe a horrifying moment as the building crumbled, with some victims unable to escape in time.
Authorities have yet to confirm the total number of those affected.
The cause of the collapse remains unknown at this stage, though investigations are expected to begin once rescue operations are completed.
