Scores of Ghanaian families resident in Benin have been left stranded following a demolition by the Béninois authorities.

These Ghanaian families have been living in suburbs of the Capital Cotonou and towns along the beaches.

Some of the families have been living there for more than 70 years.

Reports suggest that the land has been given out to investors for redevelopment culminating in the demolition. For now, the victims are stranded and are living in the open on the beaches.
