The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the commencement of free visa processing for all registered participants of the Diaspora Summit 2025, scheduled for December 19–20 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
This follows a pledge by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, during the media launch of the Summit, aimed at encouraging Africans and people of African descent worldwide to take part in the event.
In a statement, the Ministry urged prospective participants to visit the nearest Ghana Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate in their country of residence to obtain the gratis visas ahead of their travel to Ghana.
According to the Ministry, the gesture reflects Ghana’s commitment to Pan-Africanism and the strengthening of global partnerships among African descendants. The online registration deadline for the Summit is Monday, December 8, 2025, via www.diasporasummitghana.org
.
The statement also outlined countries whose nationals do not require visas to travel to Ghana under existing reciprocal visa-waiver agreements. Holders of all passport categories from countries including Barbados, Bahamas, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, Kenya, Jamaica, Rwanda, Morocco, Singapore, and several others are exempt.
Additionally, individuals with Diplomatic, Official, or Service Passports from countries such as Brazil, China, Germany, Türkiye, India, Cuba, Hungary, Namibia, and the United Arab Emirates also enjoy visa-free entry.
The Ministry encouraged all registered participants to begin visa applications promptly at Ghana Missions abroad. For further enquiries, participants may contact the Ministry via ipab@mfa.gov.gh

The Diaspora Summit 2025 is expected to convene Africans and people of African descent to deepen cooperation, build lasting networks, and advance shared development goals.
