The first batch of Ghanaians, who got stranded in the United Kingdom (UK) because of the lockdown imposed to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, have been flown back home.
Numbering 224, they arrived on Wednesday at the Kotoka International Airport, in Accra.
One hundred and eight (108) of them are adult males, 103 of adult females and the remaining 13, being children.
They are currently going through the 14-day mandatory quarantine.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the Government would be bringing back home more stranded Ghanaians, in the coming days.
Evacuations from the United States is expected to begin next week.
