AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine has unveiled a landmark USD 200,000 headline sponsorship deal with Medeama Sporting Club for the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season.
This agreement replaces Nguvu Mining as the club’s principal sponsor and strengthens Medeama’s commercial foundation amid their title chase.
The Tarkwa-based mining company steps in with shared goals of community development and sustainable growth.
The official signing ceremony unfolded at TnA Stadium in Tarkwa, coinciding with Medeama’s 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak.
This win propelled the Mauve and Yellow to the top of the league table at the halfway mark of the season. The event highlighted the club’s on-field success alongside its off-field partnerships.
AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine Managing Director, Mr. Daniel Boadi, emphasized the sponsorship’s alignment with the company’s mission during the unveiling.
He stated, “Simply put, this is our commitment to development and to empowering the people in our host communities.”
Boadi further described the company’s purpose as “mining to empower people and to advance societies,” positioning the deal as a direct extension of their social investment strategy.
Mr. Boadi reiterated AngloGold’s long-term dedication to host communities, noting that the partnership reflects their consistent approach to engagement.
The one-year renewable agreement designates AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine as Medeama’s headline sponsor, covering branding, kits, and matchday activations.
This infusion bolsters Medeama’s ambitions in domestic and continental competitions.
The sponsorship arrives at a pivotal moment for Medeama, who lead the Ghana Premier League after a strong first half.
Supporters celebrated the announcement as a sign of the club’s rising stature in Tarkwa and beyond.
With this backing, Medeama eyes sustained excellence on and off the pitch throughout the 2025/2026 campaign.
