Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has etched his name into English Premier League folklore, becoming the first Ghanaian player to score 13 goals in a single season.
The Black Stars forward reached this milestone on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, finding the net in City’s fixture against Fulham and surpassing a long-standing record previously held by Tony Yeboah.
Yeboah’s mark of 12 goals, set during his iconic stints with Leeds United in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons, had stood as the benchmark for Ghanaian excellence in England’s top flight.
It was later matched by Andre Ayew at Swansea City in the 2015/96 campaign, but no one had pushed beyond it, until Semenyo.
The 26-year-old had teased history last season with 11 goals in the 2024/25 campaign, falling just short.
This time, however, he has soared past all predecessors, standing alone atop the list of Ghanaian EPL scorers and cementing his rapid rise since jumping from the Championship.
Semenyo’s transition to the Premier League has been nothing short of spectacular. Joining Manchester City in the winter transfer window, he has quickly become a cornerstone for Pep Guardiola’s title-chasing squad, blending pace, power, and precision to terrorize defenses.
With City charging toward the Premier League crown, Semenyo’s form signals even brighter days ahead for Ghanaian football on the global stage, inspiring a new generation of Black Stars talents.
