A storm brews in Liberian football as Paynesville City Magisterial Court slaps an arrest warrant on LFA President Mustapha Raji for alleged simple assault and disorderly conduct. The order follows a complaint from Jubilee FC President James K. Nimene, charging violations of Liberia’s New Penal Law Sections 14.21 and 17.3.

The fireworks allegedly ignited on January 24 in the LFA’s Swankamore conference room, where a heated exchange over player transfers from FC Fassell and Sameria FC boiled over.

Nimene claims Raji maliciously struck his chest, shoved him out from behind, and threatened to snap his hand, acts he deems baseless criminality. This private prosecution via Liberia’s Ministry of Justice now demands Raji’s arrest to face the Montserrado County bench.

Raji’s dual role as LFA head and CAF Executive Committee member amplifies the scandal, drawing eyes from across Africa.

It traces back to Jubilee’s hard-fought October 2025 CAS ruling, reinstating them to the 2025/26 top division after LFA blocked their path amid governance gripes and transparency fights. What started as admin beef has exploded into potential handcuffs.

With no word from Raji or the LFA, whispers of evasion swirl as the case hangs in limbo. Football insiders fear league chaos, with matches at risk and sponsors spooked by the instability.
