360° Leadership is the Contemporary Response to Managing Complex Organisations – Professor Hinson to Omni Group Human Capital Team

The Omni Group Human Capital Team recently benefited from a high-level executive training session led by Professor Robert Ebo Hinson, Africa’s leading Marketing Scholar and host of Titans and Trailblazers on Metro TV. In a compelling presentation, Professor Hinson introduced 360° Leadership as the modern framework for driving effectiveness in today’s complex and fast-evolving organisational landscapes.

According to Professor Hinson, 360° Leadership empowers individuals to lead in all directions upward (influencing superiors), across (collaborating with peers), downward (guiding teams), and within (mastering self-leadership). He emphasized that this model departs from traditional top-down leadership structures by recognizing that influence is multi-directional, irrespective of positional authority.

Citing the Omni Group’s diversified operations spanning energy and power, retail (baby care and PPE), agriculture (fertilizer and cocoa), civil and heavy construction, and building construction, Professor Hinson underscored the need for adaptive leadership. “In a multi-sectoral organisation like Omni Group, where cross-functional teams, matrix structures, and hybrid work environments are the norm, 360° leadership is not just a good-to-have—it is essential,” he stated.

He outlined five core dimensions of 360° Leadership:

  3. Professional Effectiveness – Delivering consistent results and building a reputation of excellence.
