The Advertising Association of Ghana in conjunction with the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council has launched a campaign to rid the City of the indiscriminate citing of billboards.
Companies that have mounted billboards with no authorization or permit have two weeks to remove them or face sanctions.
This exercise to rid the city of wrongly cited billboards in the city is in partnership with the “Let’s Make Accra Work” campaign launched by the regional Minister, Mr. Henry Quartey.
The Association says so far they have identified 140 billboards at Kawukudi, Rawlings Park and other locations around the region.
These billboards are obstructive to traffic and pedestrians alike and most have been cited without the proper permit.
The association is calling on the companies who have breached the law to do the right thing.
The ‘Let’s make Accra work’ campaign is a non-partisan agenda, with a focus on ensuring the socio-economic development of the region.
It seeks to bring discipline and restore sanity in the city through a collective effort with residents and authorities.
