A six-hour demonstration by cashew farmers at Nsawkaw in the Tain District of the Bono Region has ended peacefully with a call on government to ban the importation of the produce from Cote d’Ivoire to help sustain the cashew industry.

A petition signed by the Chairman of the Cashew Farmers Association, Alex Bonsu and presented to the DCE for the Tain, Charity Foriwaa Dwomoh, expressed dissatisfaction with the continuous drop of producer price of cashew.
