The debate as to whether Africa’s debt should be cancelled continues after President Akufo-Addo made a call in his recent visit to Belgium.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, Dean of the School of Business at the University of Cape Coast, Professor John Gatsi said Africa incurred most debts before the emergence of the deadly coronavirus and the loans could therefore have been used to improve the economy.
Professor Gatsi noted that though donor countries benefit from their relationship with Africa, the funds they dole out to African Countries need to be put to good use for the benefit of the people.
