President Akufo-Addo and the Vice have said in 2016 that an NPP Government would not borrow because there is no need to do so. Recently the President is reported as saying government will continue to borrow.
The development seems to be a u-turn.  Radio Ghana finds out the views of Professor John Gatsi on the development.
He told George Ankrah that Ghana is not following principles.  He said already government has borrowed more than 40 billion Ghana cedis aside the twelve billion used to capitalize the collapsed banks.
Professor Gatsi said it is ironical for government to say it is building Ghana Beyond Aid without any policy to back it.
He wonders how government will achieve this when countries such as the U.S. and the United Kingdom continue to borrow but based on principle.
