The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, has officially launched the 3i Africa Summit 2026 in Accra, urging stronger collaboration to drive Africa’s fast-growing fintech sector.
Speaking at the opening in Accra on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Dr. Asiama said Africa is no longer defined by “untapped potential” but by its readiness to lead in digital finance.

Dr. Asiama stressed that future growth must be built on integration across platforms and markets, not fragmentation, to unlock opportunities for businesses and expand financial access.
He reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting innovation within a strong regulatory framework and called for sustained engagement among industry players.
The Summit is expected to drive conversations on positioning Ghana and Africa as key players in the global fintech space.
