A visit by GBC News to the Adabraka Fish Market in Accra has revealed, that prices of fish from the Volta River have gone up.

This is as a result of rising water levels and the spillage of excess water from the Akosombo and Kpong dams.

Speaking to GBC News, the Leader of the Adabraka Fishmongers, Mamaga Delight Esi Ametefe, confirmed, that prices of fish have gone up. For instance, tilapia which used to sell at 10 Cedis is now 13 cedis while catfish has increased from 12 Cedis to 15 cedis.
