The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has assured the public that Ghana has enough fuel stocks to meet current and projected demand despite concerns about developments in the global energy market.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, the authority said recent reports and public discussions about possible fuel shortages have created anxiety among some consumers. However, it stressed that the country’s fuel supply situation remains stable and firmly under control.

The NPA explained that after reviewing national petroleum stock levels and supply arrangements with the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition and other industry stakeholders, it confirmed that adequate quantities of petrol (PMS), diesel (AGO), aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are available across the country.

According to the authority, the government continues to take proactive steps to ensure that fuel supply remains reliable and the market stays stable. These measures include constant monitoring of fuel stock levels and close coordination with international oil trading companies, bulk import, distribution and export companies, as well as BOST Energies and local refineries to ensure timely imports and steady product distribution nationwide.

The NPA also said it is strengthening supply planning and price monitoring systems to reduce the risk of supply disruptions or price changes that may arise from developments in the global petroleum market.

The authority therefore urged the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying, assuring that the petroleum supply chain continues to operate normally.

It added that the NPA remains committed to ensuring reliable fuel supply, maintaining transparent market operations and protecting the interests of consumers while keeping the public informed of any major developments in the sector.
