Ghana Union Assurance Company wins 'Cedant of the Year' award

Risk management and its impact on the economy was the focus at the 9th CEDANTS awards in Accra.
Under the patronage of Ghana Reinsurance, this year’s awards looked at how insurance companies manage risks in their operations in order to safe cost.
Speaking at the event, Chief executive of Ghana Re, George Mensah said risk management must not only be prioritised in the insurance sector but in all sectors of the economy as this has the capacity to save the economy.
Guest speaker, Alhassan Andani, reiterated the importance of risk management saying, Ghana could save the ten million dollars it repatriates annually due to poor risk management.
Ghana Union Assurance Company was adjudged the 2018 CEDANTS of the year while SIC, Star Life and Horlard insurance companies picked awards in various categories.
