Management of Star Oil Ghana says it has resolved the technical issues that briefly disrupted fuel supply in parts of the country and has announced plans to restock its service stations.

In a Facebook post on Monday, March 9, 2026, the company confirmed that its fuel trucks had resumed lifting petroleum products and would soon begin restocking affected stations.

“The technical issue has been resolved. Our trucks have started lifting products and will soon begin restocking stations,” the statement said.

The statement follows reports of temporary fuel shortages at several Star Oil outlets, which sparked concern among motorists in various parts of the country.

Star Oil clarified that the disruption was not caused by hoarding ahead of a potential price hike but stemmed from operational challenges within the downstream petroleum supply chain.

The situation was further aggravated by the public holiday on Friday, which delayed the scheduled petroleum lifting operations originally planned for Saturday, 7 March.

Star Oil added that its stations are often among the first to experience supply pressure because of their high sales volumes relative to tank capacity.
