Public Relations Manager at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Esther Gyebi Donkor says Meridian Port Services (MPS) is to be blamed for the unaccounted for containers and vessels at the Port.

She said MPS has been working as a terminal operator within the Port since 2017, therefore the old agreement signed was meant to give MPS full autonomy to handle all container vessels that came to the Port.

Explaining further on news and current affairs programme ‘Behind the News’, Madam Gyebi Donkor said as far as GPHA is concerned; no official statistics have been presented to them suggesting that some containers cannot be accounted for at the Port.
