C/R: Two Grabbed for shooting, injuring NPP Members

The Assin Aworoso Police have arrested two suspects Peter Essel and Korku Yevu,  who are believed to be involved in the shooting of the Assemblyman for Assin Aworoso Daniel Owusu and injuring others.

A local manufactured gun with one round of live ammunition was retrieved from their hideout.  Both Suspects Korku Yevu and Peter Essel have been detained for further action.

Members of the NPP in Assin Aworoso Electoral Area as well as two Chiefs from the community, Nana Kwadwo Antwi and Akyeamehene Nana Kwame Asare called at the station at about 7pm to verify the incident and arrest.

The alleged shooting incident happened at the Church of Pentecost premises at Assin Nyamebekyere where members of the NPP of Assin Aworoso held a meeting.

After the meeting, the members heard a noise suspected to be a gunshot from an unknown source which injured the Assemblyman for the Assin Aworoso Electoral Area, Daniel Owusu and others.

The injured were rushed to St. Francis Xavier Hospital at Assin Foso, for medical attention.

According to the police, a man popularly known as J.J. is suspected to be the culprit.
