The Coalition of NGO’s in Health has asked government to replicate the payment of fines for non- wearing of face masks, introduced in the Ho Municipality.
This and others are part of recommendations the NGOs made to the government about a month ago.
In Ho, anyone who fails to wear a nose mask is fined ¢20.00 to serve as a deterrent to offenders.
In an interview on GBC’s ‘Behind the News’, Chairman of the Coalition of NGO’s in Health, Dr. Gabriel Benarku said although the ¢20.00 fine is not substantial, it is enough to enforce bye laws on the wearing of nose masks.
