Construction of Kwafokrom-Apedwa stretch of the Accra-Kumasi Highway begins

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Roads and Transport, Samuel Ayeh-Paye has revealed that from January to September this year, about 1,710 people died through road carnage.
He said the Kwafo-Apedwa junction on the Accra-Kumasi Highway is an accident prone spot which has witnessed fatal accidents this year. Mr Ayeh-Paye, made the disclosure when he cut the sod for the construction of the Kwafokrom-Apedwa stretch of the Accra-Kumasi Highway at Suhum in the Eastern Region.
He said government is determined to complete the entire Highway. The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Attah, said the Highway will be completed within 24 months. He appealed to all motorists to cooperate to ensure a successful completion of the road on time.
