Korle bu Teaching Hospital says it has decided to suspend non-emergency surgical cases for the next two weeks.
This is necessitated by the fact that some Staff have been infected with COVID 19. A statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Mustapha Salifu, said the measure is to protect clients and the rest of staff who are still at post and providing care to patients.
It said the suspension will also enable the Hospital to re-organise for the resumption of regular services.
The statement said only dire emergency cases will be attended to within the period. Korle bu, therefore, request sister health facilities to refer only serious surgical emergencies to the facility.
Meanwhile, other departments of the Hospital are still in full operation.
