The Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, has arrested 65 individuals suspected of engaging in various forms of cybercrime across the country.

Speaking at a media briefing, the Acting Director-General of the CSA, Mr. Devine Selase Agbeti, said the arrests were made during coordinated operations aimed at securing Ghana’s digital space and protecting citizens from the growing threat of online fraud and cyberattacks.

One of the major busts occurred at Dodowa Sasabi Ubuntu Estate, where 25 foreign nationals were apprehended. During the raid, law enforcement officers confiscated 40 laptops, 30 mobile phones, and an internet router believed to have been used to perpetrate cybercrimes.

Mr. Agbeti disclosed that investigations are still underway, with legal and diplomatic procedures being initiated to prosecute those involved. He also confirmed that some Ghanaian nationals were implicated during the operation, which took place on May 29, 2025.

“These arrests underscore the rising tide of cyber threats in the country,” he said, stressing the need for ongoing collaboration between cybersecurity authorities and law enforcement agencies to clamp down on such crimes.

The CSA has reiterated its commitment to working with local and international partners to dismantle cybercriminal networks and ensure a safe digital environment for all Ghanaians.
