Government Expert and Director General, Internal Audit Agency, Dr. Eric Oduro Osae says the Ghana Education Service (GES) should conduct an internal audit in the Senior High Schools to ensure the safety of the students.
He stated that GES should partner with the Security Services to ensure the safety of the students.
According to him, there must be some sort of search, to ensure that the students do not have in their possession any foreign materials before they are allowed into the school.
“They should search on the students regularly to see if they have knives or any foreign materials “, he posited.
Dr. Oduro-Osae’s comment comes on the back of the stabbing of a First Year Student of the Konongo Senior High School in the Ashanti Region, during a scuffle.
He spoke on the GTV Breakfast Show, November 9, 2021.
Dr. Oduro-Osae suggested that the Ghana Education Service together with the Senior High Schools, should activate further stringent administrative procedures to analyze the caliber of students to avoid and further disturbances within the student front.
‘’They just cannot admit anyone”, he noted.
