The Deputy Minister for Education Dr. Clement Abass Apaak has commended outstanding candidates in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), urging them to remain disciplined and uphold integrity as they pursue their future ambitions.
Delivering a keynote address on behalf of the Minister for Education at the WAEC Distinction Awards Ceremony held at the Sakyi Asare-Menako Hall in Accra, the Deputy Minister praised the awardees for their perseverance and dedication to academic excellence.

He noted that the students’ achievements were a reflection of their determination and the countless hours they invested in their studies acknowledging the significant role played by teachers in shaping the success of the students.
Touching on issues affecting the education sector, Dr. Apaak expressed concern about the rising incidents of examination malpractice in some schools. He stressed the need for all stakeholders to work collectively to protect the credibility of national examinations.
He assured that the Ministry of Education would continue to collaborate closely with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to safeguard the integrity of the examination system and maintain high academic standards in the country.
