The Ministry of Education has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with its counterparts from E-Learning Africa to strengthen digital learning across the country.
Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, the Deputy Minister of Education, reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding access to education nationwide. “This is a remarkable achievement and more than just a signing ceremony. It places Ghana at the forefront of Africa’s digital education solutions. Since 2005, E-Learning Africa has been the continent’s premier platform for education innovation,” Dr. Apaak stated.
He announced that Ghana will host the 18th edition of E-Learning Africa from June 3 to 5, 2026, welcoming delegates from across the continent. “We will be showcasing not just our business capital, but also our nation’s remarkable progress and transformation through initiatives like our GALOP project and education planning through 2030,” he added.

E-Learning Africa has been active on the continent for over two decades, working closely with governments to enhance digital learning systems. Despite challenges such as unreliable internet access and poor digital infrastructure, the organization continues to drive innovation in the education sector.
Rebecca Stromeyer, Founder and CEO of E-Learning Africa, praised Ghana’s efforts in embracing digital education and emphasized the need for sustained collaboration. Ghana has made significant achievements, including supporting young start-ups. E-Learning Africa will be showcasing how Ghana has the infrastructure in which we will be investing,” she noted.
The MoU is intended to help build capacity and improve fundamental learning outcomes, especially in deprived communities, through the use of modern digital tools.
