The Ghana Education Service (GES) has condemned an assault on a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
In a press statement, GES said the footage shows Mr. Michael Quayson being attacked by some former students of the school. A preliminary report indicates that the incident occurred on October 5, 2025, and was allegedly triggered by the teacher’s strict supervision during the Christian Religious Studies WASSCE 2025 examination.
GES noted that the matter was not reported to school authorities or the Service until the video surfaced online. Management has since taken over the case, and investigations are ongoing.
Describing the act as “unacceptable, unlawful, and a direct affront to the dignity of the teaching profession,” the Service said those involved will face sanctions as provided by law and GES regulations.
GES further assured teachers across the country of its commitment to maintaining discipline and safeguarding examination integrity, while urging students to respect authority and uphold school rules.
