The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued an update on the 2025 teacher promotion exercise, expanding eligibility to cover teachers promoted or appointed in or before 2021 and addressing concerns over technical glitches on the application portal.

In its earlier announcement on August 18, the Service had opened applications to teachers last promoted or appointed in 2020 or earlier. However, in the new update released on August 21, GES clarified that the process now includes all teachers due since 2021.

Management also acknowledged challenges with the online portal and assured applicants that the difficulties are being resolved. “Management takes full responsibility for the technical challenge and will solve it,” the statement signed by Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, said.

The statement also indicated that no eligible teacher will be left behind, and that the promotion exercise remains guided by fairness, transparency, and equity.
