The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the opening of applications for the promotion of teaching staff to various ranks, starting Monday, August 18, 2025.

In a notice shared on the official GES Facebook page, the service said eligible teachers and officers may apply for promotion to the ranks of Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent.

Applicants must have served in their current positions since 2020 or earlier, excluding periods of approved leave of absence. Officers with Master’s or PhD degrees may also apply, provided the certificates were obtained from an approved GES course of study and not before their last promotion. For those applying with postgraduate qualifications, the certificates must have been acquired in or before 2022.

The application process is strictly online via bit.ly/gespromotions2025 or through a QR code provided in the announcement. Applicants are required to upload a passport-size photograph, their last promotion or appointment letter, and the highest academic certificate being used for the promotion. All documents must be in PDF format, except passport photographs.

The application window closes on Friday, September 5, 2025.
