Government cedes printing of textbooks to Local Companies

The Ministry of Education has announced that it will henceforth cede the printing of textbooks to local companies.  It said publishing of books outside Ghana is no longer permitted, consequently all publishers who are already qualified has been asked to present signed agreements with local printers.

For a start the textbooks to be printed will cover from Kindergarten to Primary six.

The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, disclosed this in an interview with the Daily Graphic in Accra.

According to the Ministry the idea is to encourage and empower local printing businesses.
