The grounds of Divine Mission Academy in Ejisu-Donaso, Ashanti Region came alive with a kaleidoscope of colours, traditional rhythms, and inspiring words as the school hosted a joint Culture and Heritage Day alongside its Graduation and Promotion Ceremony.
The celebration paid tribute to Ghana’s diverse traditions, with students proudly dressed in regional costumes that reflected the country’s rich cultural identity. From energetic traditional dances and vibrant costume displays to moving poetry performances in multiple local languages, the day became a living showcase of unity in diversity.

“Our goal goes beyond academic achievement — we aim to raise confident young people who are proud of their heritage and respectful of the traditions that shape our society,” remarked Dr. Godfred Aawaar, Head of School. “Moments like these show that our students can honour their past while stepping boldly into the future.”
In attendance was Rev. Ebow Esseku, who graced the event as a special guest. He opened the ceremony with a prayer, committing the proceedings to God’s guidance, and later closed the day with blessings for the students, staff, and community.
The occasion was particularly special for the Junior High School Class of 2025, who were celebrated for their dedication and hard work as they completed their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Younger pupils were also promoted to their next grade level, marking their progress and potential.

Performances from different parts of Ghana brought the stage to life — each dance, poem, and costume carrying deep cultural meaning. Parents, teachers, and community members watched with pride as students displayed both academic growth and cultural knowledge.
The event concluded with applause, cheers, and a shared sense of community spirit, reminding everyone present that education is more than lessons in a classroom — it is also about nurturing identity, values, and a deep connection to one’s roots.
