President Mahama pledges infrastructure upgrade for all Category B and C Senior High Schools

President John Dramani Mahama, an alumnus of Ghana Senior High School, GHANASCO has pledged to keep the school in the category A selection whilst also upgrading all Category B and C schools to Category A status by improving their infrastructure.

“We will expand all Category B and C schools to become Category A by improving their infrastructure”, he said. 

Speaking during GHANASCO’s 65th anniversary on Saturday, November 22, 2025, President Mahama emphasized the need to build more accommodation for staff and students to make GHANASCO, a Category A school.

He also expressed his hope that GHANASCO would adopt poultry and livestock farming, highlighting the importance of practical skills development even hinting that they would not have to buy from the markets but from their own farms. 

Present at the anniversary celebration, Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu praised Ghanasco for producing notable alumni, including President Mahama and the First Lady, Lordina Mahama. 

The First Lady, who launched the anniversary celebrations, commended Ghanasco’s legacy of excellence and its role in shaping future generations.
